On The Other Side Of The Rainbow

It was the 21st of August and I was on my way home talking to a friend on the cellphone when I died ... It was an accident... that I knew was coming giving the sort of reckless life I was living. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. I left behind my parents, a brother and a sister. It was a painful death. The EMT's tried their best to save me, as all the King's men tried to put Humpty together ... but failed. My body was so utterly shattered that I was better off dead than alive, trust me. As someone said.. in life, as in art, some endings are bittersweet especially when it comes to love. Sometimes, fate throws two lovers together only to rip them apart. Sometimes, the hero realizes his mistake and makes the right choice but the timing is all wrong. And as everyone knows.. "Timing is Everything". And everyone on the sidelines watching are thinking in their minds that there must be a twist in the story and everything will be fine in the end, as

There's a story... an old Celtic legend, about a bird that sings just once in its life. From the moment it leaves its nest, it searches for a thorn tree... and never rests until it's found one. And then it sings... more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. And singing, it impales itself on the longest, sharpest thorn. But, as it dies, it rises above its own agony, to out-sing the lark and the nightingale. The thorn bird pays its life for just one song, but the whole world stills to listen, and God in his heaven smiles. The best is accomplished at the cost of the greatest pain, so says the legend.
